The National Responsible Gambling Programme helpline is 0800 006 008. The South African Responsible Gambling Foundation publishes that line. If you want to stop, use the operator’s own self-exclusion or cool-off tool as well, and ask your bank to block gambling transactions where that control exists.

Tools that only work if you use them

• Set a deposit limit before the session, not after a loss.
• Cooling off is more useful than a promise to stop tomorrow.
• Do not keep a casino password in a place that makes a late-night login easy.
• Jack Millions tells players, on its responsible-gaming material, that the platform is for people who are at least 18 or the legal age where they are, whichever is higher. Use that rule. A tool on a website only helps if you switch it on before you deposit.
